The Hat Man is always watching.
The warm, gently degraded repeat of a PT2399 with a microcontroller handling tempo, subdivisions, modulation, switching, and memory. Hold TAP/HOLD and the whole thing starts to unravel.

The idea
Analog-voiced repeats. Digital discipline.
The PT2399 is loved because it is imperfect. Hat Man keeps that character, then wraps it in a front end that knows exactly where the beat is, remembers what matters, and keeps physical switching out of the audio path.
Tempo that lands
Tap twice for tempo. Choose dotted eighth, quarter, or eighth-triplet subdivisions. The LED eyes alternate at the current delay rate.
Two modulation voices
A soft sine adds gentle movement. A deep ramp at double rate bends repeats harder. Both stay locked to the current delay and fade in smoothly.
Nightmare Mode
Hold TAP/HOLD for about 0.3 seconds. TIME becomes chaos intensity until you release and return to the saved delay.
Quiet, useful switching
A latching relay gives true bypass without routing audio through the footswitch. Delay time, bypass state, and Nightmare intensity are remembered.
